"Auto-Magically" How things happen automatically in a Linux system

This is a presentation topic proposal.

Linux will do many things, "Auto-magically." This presentation discusses the different methods of making things happen automatically in Linux so that it works like magic.

Topics to be covered will include:

A) Per computer magic
1) inittab
2) init.d scripts
3) ???

B) Magic for a specific user
1) ~/.bash_profile
2) ~/.bashrc
3) ~/.profile

C) Magic for every user
1) /etc/profile

If there is enough interest in this topic we'll need to flesh out the presentation and find a presenter for it.

SIMPL - a real time communication library for Linux

The open source project I spoke briefly about is called SIMPL. The main project site is at:

http://users.netrover.com/~ican/simpl

From that site you can link through to the Sourceforge site for SIMPL as well. Looks like I've volunteered to give a talk on the SIMPL open source project in the May meeting.

I also spoke about my nofee online courses. You can find more info at:

http://www.icanprogram.com/nofeecourses.html

The network appliance which was discussed is produced by a local Kitchener company. Their URL is:
