MythTV is a collection of Linux programs that create a media center. It allows you collect all of your important media (movies, TV, music, family photos, CambridgeLUG presentations) and makes them available to all of the media devices on your network.
This introduction to MythTV will demonstrate the features of a media center and several common uses. A discussion will include Planning, Hardware selection, Installation, Configuration, and Lessons Learned.
How does the Linux system start? We switch the box on, and in a few seconds, everything is working. What is going on behind the scenes?
This presentation will demystify the boot process for beginners and provide some great tips for intermediate Linux users.

IPCop is a specialized Linux distribution for firewalls. We'll learn how to acquire and install IPCop and how to use its web-based administration interface.
Addon packages can extend IPCop's capabilities. We'll look at selected addons if time permits.
This will be the Founders Meeting for Cambridge LUG. We will discuss our plans for future Cambridge LUG meetings. We'll outline the presentation schedule for the next few months.

This meeting will be a Show and Tell roundtable. Each member will have the opportunity to describe and demonstrate something interesting in Linux. "Interesting" will be stretched to its limit as we cover things that we find entertaining, helpful, useful, quirky, and or bizarre.
