There are many ways to create a Linux LiveCD. In the upcoming presentation, I will be focusing on the following topics.

1. Why use a LiveCD?
2. Simple overview of Knoppix, Ubuntu, Slax and Other distros.
3. Why did I select Slackware vs the other Linux distributions?
4. Are there any open source tools available for creating a custom LiveCD?
5. What are the LiveCD internals?
6. What are the space limitations?
7. What are the performance issues?
8. How about configuration issues between computers?

SME Server is a leading Linux distribution for small and medium enterprises. It can also be used at home as a file and media server.
How is it different from other Linux distributions? Well you will find out if you come to the presentation. Basically the most common feature are pre-configured, as well as the ability to add additional features by downloading 'contribs'. SME Server is published under the GPL license. You can download it for free, they do ask that you contribute a small donation.

IPCop is a specialized Linux distribution for firewalls. We'll learn how to acquire and install IPCop and how to use its web-based administration interface.

Addon packages can extend IPCop's capabilities. We'll look at selected addons if time permits.

The open source project I spoke briefly about is called SIMPL. The main project site is at:
